Yellow Cones-Monument to the New International

Public sculpture proposal

A proposal for an outdoor sculpture installation to be installed in open desert or dry areas with minimal foliage.

This sculpture proposal is the latest installment in a series I began in 1993 entitled ”Monument to the New International”

It utilizes various sites around a community facility ( such as a university campus ) by placing metal cones to catch water and light to mark areas otherwise unnoticed by the users. Small holes punctured at the bottom of each cone allow water to drain slowly; the intention being to provide water to the surrounding area. Seen from the air, the projected result would appear as yellow spots surrounded by varying patches of green.
